Thaltej Gam is the western end of the Blue Line, the east-west corridor of the Ahmedabad Metro, and the closest station to our areas. It opened on 8 December 2024 as an elevated station beside Thaltej Road, one stop beyond the Thaltej station on SG Highway, and from here trains run across the city to Vastral Gam via the Sabarmati crossing. Metro planners intend to extend the line west from Thaltej Gam toward Godhavi in a later phase, which would eventually bring stations to the Bopal–Shela belt, but that is a plan, not a timetable.

You can, with a two-wheeler or a regular auto for the 15 to 25 minute first leg. Parking at the station is limited, so most Bopal commuters do not drive a car to it. If the metro is central to your routine, Shilaj cuts that leg to 8 to 15 minutes and is the area we would suggest first.
When will the metro reach Bopal or Shela?

There is a planned extension of the Blue Line west from Thaltej Gam toward Godhavi with several intermediate stations, but it is at the planning stage and we do not quote dates we cannot stand behind. If an extension is important to you, rent on an 11-month lease and reassess; we will keep the area pages updated as work actually starts.
